With a wide range of optical drive options, Qube desktops let you completely customize your digital-entertainment preferences and data-backup requirements.
Depending on your capacity requirements, you can choose between CD, DVD, double-layer (DL) DVD and Blu-ray DiscTM options. Blu-ray Disc (BD) is the revolutionary disc format for viewing high definition movies, playing Blu-ray games, recording high definition home movies, and backing up your music, photos, videos, software and data files. Please note that the Blu-ray Disc Combo reads BD (plays hi-definition movies and writes to CD/DVD) but does not write to BD discs.
If you’re looking for more storage capacity than CDs or DVDs offer, double-layer DVD is the next step, with up to 8.5GB of storage. Want even more? Choose Blu-ray Disc, which gives you up to 25GB for single layer and 50GB for DL discs - more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs.
The chart below provides approximate capacity to help determine how much storage you need. The system you are configuring may or may not include all of the options listed here. |

Approximate number of files, videos, or pictures are based on average file sizes and will vary depending on complexity of hardware or camera model. Some of the capacity is used for formatting and other functions, and thus is not available for data storage. As a result your operating system may report fewer megabytes (gigabytes). |
