Finding the television shows you want to watch and record is easier, too. The Interactive Program Guide provides programming information, which is updated daily, in grid form. Search by category (sports or movies, for example) or subcategory (baseball or comedy). When you find a show that interests you, a single button-push on the remote control calls up detailed information about it, including a program description, cast, and rating.

Media Center XPC makes it a snap to organize, find, and view your favorite pictures.Use the Media Center XPC remote control and the easy–to–read on–screen menus to sort and find photos and images in the My Pictures and Shared Pictures folders. View your digital photos one at a time, or create automated slide shows. You can even add background music to your slide shows to set the right mood, and adjust the volume or skip tracks during a slide show, all without missing a beat.

With the Play DVD features of Media Center XPC, you can enjoy a rich full–screen DVD experience on your Media Center XPC PC from anywhere in the room. XPC's S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) is a state-of-the-art optical digital audio transfer file format. It is usually found on digital audio equipment such as AV receivers, digital instruments, and Dolby 6.1 surround-sound speaker systems. It allows the transfer of audio from one file to another without the conversion to and from an analog format, which could degrade the signal quality.
